Never worry about getting your colors dirty. If you use this procedure, you won't get dirty color. 'Dirty color' is the name given to a magnificent color in a rotten place. So, if you always add lighter tones to light areas and darker tones to dark areas, the tones you add won't shock each other; they are already in a befitting situation. But as soon as you add darks onto lights and lights onto darks, that's where that muddy condition starts, or how it happens.
